Biomark Propioni

Microbial culture of Propionibacterium freudenreichii ( 5 billion CFU / g )

exotic-bird-50HELPS TO CONVERT LACTIC ACID TO PROPIONIC ACID
Lactic acid is prone to getting accumulated in the rumen as its adsorption is much slower than that of propionic acid. BIOMARK PROPIONI reduces ruminal lactic acid levels by converting lactic acid to propionic acid ; maintains rumen pH at a higher level, which is friendlier to “ fibre digesting bacteria” and thus checks detrimental effects of acidosis. Propionic acid is used by ruminants to make blood glucose, milk protein, milk sugar and muscles.

Microbial culture of Propionibacterium freudenreichii IMPROVES OXYGEN CARRYING CAPACITY OF BLOOD Under normal conditions, nitrate is converted by rumen organisms to nitrite, which binds the hemoglobin in the blood stream and reduces oxygen carrying capacity of the blood. BIOMARK PROPIONI converts nitrate to harmless nitrogen gas in the rumen to improve oxygen carrying capacity of the blood.

BINDS MYCOTOXINS

Propioni bacteria have cell wall structures that bind mycotoxins and limit their bio availability in the animal body. Mycotoxins are then eliminated in the faeces without significant detrimental effects on the animals or any risk of toxic residues to be found in edible animal products.

HELPS TO SUPPLY EXTRA UREA TO GET EXTRA PROTEINS

Propioni bacteria adheres to the squamous epithelium of rumen and is highly UREOLYTIC – urea being supplied CONTINUOUSLY by diffusion from the epithelium.Ruminal microbes convert this UREA to amino acids thereby helping to increase “ protein rich milk”.

USES PROTEIN OF SLOUGHED EPITHELIAL CELLS

Propioni bacteria and other microbial population is highly PROTEOLYTIC and uses protein of sloughed epithelial cells and helps in increasing the absorptive capacity of the ruminal epithelium (D. N. Karma, Page 60, Nutritional microbiology of farm animals, 1996. Vikas Publications).

SYNERGY WITH LIVE YEAST CULTURE

Saccharomyces cerevisiae When BIOMARK PROPIONI was added along with S. cerevisiae , Sc – 47, it was observed that the performance of dairy animals is far better than when it was used alone. In some of the dairy farms where combination of YEAMARK 5 g + BIOMARK PROPIONI 3 g was used, cross-bred cows have yielded 1.5 litres extra milk per day, even during later half period of lactation

  • BIOMARK PROPIONI has a beneficial action on both rumen and intestines.
  • It helps to ferment glucose, sucrose and pentoses as well as lactate, malate, glyceroland other substitutes to propionic acid.
  • Improves milk yield by 500 ml to 1000 ml without reducing the butter fat percentage.
  • Useful for healthy growth of calves and ideal to be used in calf starter.

Propionibacteria are rumen and intestinal bacteria of ruminants, where they play a part in the formation of fatty acids, especially propionic acid and acetic acids, in the rumen. They are responsible for the conversion of lactate, which arises from various fermentations in the rumen, to predominantly propionate. They rarely occur in milk, nor can they be isolated from soil or water  Ref. Hans G. Schlegel, General Microbiology, pp – 308
